Up for auction is a Vintage Leonardo Nunes Soprano Ukulele, The body, neck, and fingerboard of this ukulele are made out of Koa Wood, indigenous to Hawaii. The original tuning keys appear to be Koa Wood also along with the bridge. There are two inlaid abalone position markers at the fifth and seventh frets of the twelve - fret fingerboard. The frets are made out of brass and look square. The dimensions are : overall length, 21"; body length, 9 1/2"; scale length, 13 1/8"; width at nut, 1 1/4"; width at upper bout, 4 7/8"; waist, 3 5/8"; lower bout,6"; depth, 1 7/8" to 2 3/8"; " these dimensions might actually qualify it as one of the rather rare "Soprano" ukuleles made by Leonardo Nunes. The wood is in near mint condition: just a couple of dings, scratches and a bruise or two. There are no cracks but one on the top looking down it would be to the left of the bridge which is barely visible and it looks like it might be an old repair, look at # 6 picture to see it .That the only crack I could find. The label inside the ukulele reads, Ukulele O Hawaii, made by , Leonardo Nunes, Tone, Material and Workmanship Guarateed, This ukulele comes with a new chipboard case and Instructional manual which dates back as old or older than the Ukulele.
