Description

THE JUNK MAN RAG Charles Luckyth Roberts One-Step Date: 1913 Music: C. Luckyth (Luckey) Roberts Publisher: Jos. W. Stern & Co. - New York Size: Large Format; 6 pages Condition: Hard to rate because it has been trimmed about 1/4". Aside from that, it is in very good condition with seam intact and showing only minor wear. A few small tears to insert page. Pencil signature on cover. Photo insert of Maurice & Florence Walton. Written by Charles Luckyth Roberts, an African-American pianist, composer of popular music, and the first of the Harlem school of pianists to see his work in publication. He stook only about 4' 10" but was said to have had the arms and hands of a much bigger person, comparable with his life-long friend, Eubie Blake. In 1913, Roberts made his mark in the ragtime world with his bit hit, The Junk Man Rag. A highly collectible piece of sheet music. Please e-mail me with any questions before bidding. Thank you for stopping to look and good luck to all bidders. We are always happy to combine shipping costs on multiple items whenever possible. Insurance is optional ($1.70 for up to $50.00; $2.10 for up to $100.00). As always, our items are shipped with the greatest care using no-bend packaging for all sheet music.
