Are you fed up with buying reeds that do not meet your expectations? perhaps you can´t stand anymore getting 3 reeds and seeing that only 1 of them plays? what if every reed that you bought you could use in a concert................:) I am a professional bassoonist that plays in a well known symphony orchestra www.osesp.art.br and I have been making and researching reeds for more than 20 years. Based on this long research I use techniques that produce the characteristics that I look for in a reed: a product that is consistently of excellent quality, has wonderful sound, response and intonation and does not need further scraping to adjust the resistance level. How is this possible? It has always been my vison to produce a reed that has a warm and beautiful sound but that also vibrates sufficiently to have the flexibility to fulfill the musical intentions of the player. During my research I discovered a technique of adjusting the resistance of the reed by changing the size of the internal chamber. Usually the hardness or softness of the reed is controlled by how much cane is removed and unfortunately most of the time the player has to sacrifice the sound to create the flexibility he is looking for. The sound is the vehicle of music and on my reeds is not sacrificed. At all dynamic levels the reeds respond well, the sound does not distort as the dynamic is increased because the reed is designed to maintain its stability and preserve the full range of harmonics as the vibration changes. The overall length measures 55mm (tube 27mm, scrape 28mm), shaped on a Reiger 1a tip that has been modified to make the sides of the reeds rounder producing a full-bodied sound. Its not worth wasting money on factory made reeds, these are hand made with the the same care that I make reeds for myself. What exactly does hand made mean? these reeds are a little more expensive because they are truly hand made. Most reeds are mass produced on machines and sent out the same day, this ignores the fact that reeds always change after they are machine produced because of the shock on the cane. My reeds are finished over a 3-4 day period I make sure that every reed I sell does'nt leave my workshop until I am satisfied that I can use it myself and therefore the reeds arrive ready to play straight out of the box with a guide for adjusting the resistance to fit your playing needs perfectly and accurately. These reeds are the product of 20 years of investigation and professional testing and they are guaranteed to play beautifully.
