With a highly decorated past of many industry firsts, they are widely regarded as one of the world leaders in the advancement of electronics as a whole. One of the bright points in their product history has been their tubes. The Telefunken 7189 has been the industry standard of excellence since the very beginning. These 7189’s were built to such a high standard it would be impossible to offer an affordable equivalent in today’s marketplace under the current labor/material costs. The 7189 is the industrial version of the 6BQ5/EL84 tube. It can handle 400 volts on the screen and plate. It can be used in place of the 6BQ5/EL84, although the 6BQ5/EL84 should not be used in place of it. HH Scott, Fisher, & Heathkit produced many very memorable amps utilizing the 7189. It has the ability to present music with a degree of naturalness and effortlessness superior to other small output tubes. This auction if for four Telefunken 7189 tubes from the 60’s. These are very hard to find these days and many audiophiles & musicians feel these are the finest 7189’s ever made. They have an incredible mid range sweetness with unmatched clarity and detail. .
