His Knowledge of Vintage Instruments Is Extensive And Is Trusted And Sought After Throughout The New England Area. I Am So Sure That You Will Be Pleased, Should You Purchase The Fine Vintage Bass Guitar, That I Am Offering You A 72 Hour Inspection Period For Your Own Verification. This Bass Is A Real Find, In This Rare Color, And In Outstanding Overall Condition. Now some background on this great Fender Jazz Bass as it was passed on to me. The original owner bought this bass brand new from "Bill's Music House" in Catonsville, Maryland. I too was a player from that area back in those days and Bill's was THE place in Baltimore to buy your gear. They are still there today at the same location doing what they do best. Taking care of local musician's needs at a fair price. This bass played local gigs until the 1970's when it was sold to it's second and last owner, the person I'm selling it for. This gentleman gently played it on weekends in the Baltimore/Washington DC area until the late 80's. Since then it has remained basically unplayed to this day. It has been well taken care of as you will immediately see by the very fine condition of the neck and frets. The body and headstock face are extensively checked but have maintained their overall color very well. They are still quite clear and bright. All the hardware looks good for it's age with the typical amount of pitting. The pickups, pots/cap and wiring all passed date testing and function as they should. As well as the bridge, neck plate and tuners. I have been a bass player since 1969. I have had the opportunity to work with many different and fine bass instruments though these past, almost, 40 years. I can honestly tell you, without hesitation, that this bass is the finest playing and sounding Jazz Bass it has ever been my good fortune to hold. The bass is a real player with "Alotta Mojo" thrown in. Also, in today's uncertain economic times it is a rock solid investment. Like fine art and classic cars, there are only so many of the really good ones left. This Fender bass will most certainly accrue in value and give a fine return on your money. I will be available and happy to answer your questions on this listing. Thank you very much... Rick   Note: The original factory Fender hard case is in good overall cosmetic condition for it's age. However, I wish to make you aware that in the interior, there is a tear near the headstock rest. Also, the two outside latches no longer have their detents and will not lock shut. The center latch does work as it should. PayPal, Overnight Certified Bank Check (teller's checks are not acceptable) and Direct Wire, Bank to Bank, Money Transfers are the only types of payment accepted for this auction. At the close of the auction I will send the winning bidder a invoice. The winning bidder must then contact me within 24 hours after this auction ends. At that time we can discuss which form of payment you will use. If the first winning bidder does not contact me within 24 hours they will forfiet their winning bid and a second chance offer will be made to the next highest bidder. If you can not agree to any of these payment requirements, please do not place a bid. UPS ground shipping within the lower 48 United States will be $100.00. Professional double boxed packing and full insurance for this fine piece are provided with this price. Alaska, Hawaii and Canada please write for a quote (Canada, you are responsible to pay for all import fees and taxes). To all other locations outside of North America, you must write for a shipping quote BEFORE you place any bids. I don't ship to every country. You must contact me, first to find out if I will ship to your country, and secondly to get a price quote. If you do not ask first, your bid will be cancelled. Note to all bidders in the United States: Please take a moment to review the return policy for this auction. It contains information that you may find useful. Note to all potential bidders outside the United States and Canada: You must contact me for a shipping quote before placing any bids. If you don't your bid will be cancelled. It will take at least 24-48 hours to get back to you with a shipping quote so please inquire early in this auction if you are seriously interested. The cost to ship this bass overseas with the proper packing materials for safe transport, adequate insurance and the proper customs documents is very high. No corners will be cut on shipping and no false declarations will be made to export this vintage instrument from the United States. Because of the extreme value of this piece, historic and dollar, I will only use a professional import/export company for transport outside the USA. The bass will be padded, then shrink wrapped and lastly crated before being flown from the USA to it's destination. It costs more to do it this way but rest assured your prized investment will arrive to you intact. Please remember the buyer is responsible to pay all shipping costs from the USA and all import fees/taxes owed to your home country upon arrival there. Please read the return policy for buyers outside the USA. Thank You. As Always, Thanks for looking and Good Luck!
