THIS IS A 2 HR DVD OF ME REBUILDING A C MELODY SAXOPHONE FROM TEAR DOWN TO BLOW TESTING. IT INCLUDES REMOVING THE KEYS, RE-PADDING, CORKING, SEATING THE PADS AND FINAL ADJUSTMENT. I HAVE BEEN REBUILDING SAXOPHONES FOR OVER 35 YEARS. I AM A 1973 GRADUATED OF THE "ALLIED BAND REPAIR" SCHOOL . > Birds Eye View All of the videos presented here are the original works of Paul Heimann Born in 1953 in Decatur, Indiana . Paul started doing minor repairs in his dad's music store at age 15. During the summers he worked at Keller Band Repair in Elkhart Indiana. In 1972, Paul went to the Allied Band Repair facility in Elkhorn Wisconsin and completed 48 weeks training on brass and woodwind repair. Paul successfully operated his own repair shop for many years, doing complete overhaul and relacquer jobs on anything from piccolos to tubas. Paul not only repairs, but also plays saxophone and flute professionally. Paul realized there was not many places to learn the art of band repair, so he started the Birds Eye View series. At first they were just that, a birds eye view of him doing a complete job from tear down to blow testing. Most recently Paul has added more talking to explain what he is doing and why. Paul is also working on an instructional series. So far: Birds Eye View video of a Selmer Clarinet Overhaul, Albert system Clarinet Repad, Eb Clarinet Repad, Oboe Repad, Bassoon Repad, Flute Overhaul,Piccolo Repad, Alto saxophone Overhaul, Mk VI Tenor Saxophone Repad, Pre MK VI alto saxophone Repad. Alto Saxophone Repad for Beginners Instructional. I hope I can help you learn the Art of Band Repair. Whether you do it for a hobby or profession.
