AMERICAN CLASSIC-AMERICAN CLASSIC SOUND-READY TO PLAY. This is a classic American horn, serial number 529xxx. It was made in 1970. The body is in good condition, with a few dings. There are no dents. There are scratches. The close up photos show the scratches. The body is clean. Use will generate a luxurious patina. The keys and rods were buffed. All the "works" are nice and bright. Rate the cosmetics about 90% to 50%. Cosmetics is very subjective. If cosmetics means to you, perfect lacquer, rate this low. If cosmetics means the soft glow of use and care, this is it.If you enjoy the well worn and well cared for look this may be for you. Use brings out the beauty. The scratches are just the normal stuff from being used. The metal work is still straight. The neck is good. LOOK at the photos. The sound is original. I had the pads replaced. I got the same kind of pads. It has the same kind of sound. The set up was completely reworked so it is play ready. I got the Buescher mouthpiece, ligature and cap. They work. There is a fairly good neck strap, perfectly serviceable. This horn is ready to go to work. I'll put a new reed in so you can take the horn out of the box and play it. I think it is in the original case. The case is in good condition with this caveat: there is one metal foot missing from the four at the bottom of the case. It is clean inside. I want to sell it because I am a sax nut. I hate to see a good sax turned to scrap metal. This is clearly not the best choice for a STUDENT. This is This sax has not been used except to play test it after getting it back from the technician.It is time to move it on. I have more waiting to be fixed.
