After decades of players forced to endure guitars that are not comfortable to play, along comes a single-cut-away that has ergonomic and tone enhancing designs that are sure to set a new standard in guitar building. The Carvin California Single CS6, introduced in 2007, is not merely another take on a classic idea. It's a superior quality, USA-made instrument that's loaded with features usually only found on guitars twice it's price. You can own a custom-made, hand-built guitar without the custom-made, hand-built price, and be the proud owner of a totally unique instrument that will last a lifetime. Carvin uses hand selected genuine mahogany for the body and the neck, which adds warmth and accentuates the low and mid-range tone of the instrument. Mahogany has always been considered a classic tone wood, and is denser and heavier than alder, but lighter than maple. The CS6 comes standard with a beautifully sculpted top of the finest bookmatched AAAA curly flamed maple with Carvin's natural body binding and matching headstock. Bookmatched AAAA quilted maple and flamed koa tops are also offered. Carvin's exclusive deep-triple step finishing process creates an almost 3-dimensional depth to the figure of the flamed or quilted top. Only the maple top is finished; the back of the guitar and neck are finished in clear gloss, allowing the natural mahogany to show through. Clear satin and tung-oil finishes are offered on the back of the neck only or on the entire instrument. The matching headstock is adorned with a 24K gold plated Carvin logo, for just the right touch of class. The mahogany set-neck of the CS6 features Carvin's "Rapid Play" low action neck, which assures effortless playability throughout the entire fingerboard, while the sleek set-in neck and lower body cutout allow easy uninhibited access at the 22nd fret. Where most set-in neck guitars have a cumbersome heel and don't set into the body any further than the fingerboard, the CS6 guitar has an exclusive smooth "heel-less" design for improved access to all frets. The neck actually sets 5 inches into the body and extends underneath the neck pickup for greater stability and sustain over any other single-cut set-in neck guitar. The standard 25" scale, 12" radius fingerboard is ebony with genuine abalone dot inlays, and other fingerboard woods, such as rosewood, maple and birdseye maple are available. You also can choose from an assortment of inlays made from genuine abalone or mother-of-pearl, in dots, diamonds or blocks. Standard frets are medium-jumbo nickel, with stainless steel, jumbo and low-wide frets optional. Carvin's "M" bridge is standard, with fully-adjustable tune-o-matic bridge and strings fed through the body for additional sustain. Sperzel™ locking tuners ensure your CS6 will stay in tune, regardless of your bridge selection or playing style. Hardware is chrome. Electronics consist of a single volume and tone control, with a 3-way pickup selector located on the upper bout. The tone control doubles as a push/pull coil splitter, which doubles the effect range of the pickups. Carvin's standard classic C22 humbuckers are custom wound with vintage plain enamel wire which helps bring out the harmonically rich tone and sustain of this fine instrument. The CS6 is made in the USA at Carvin's Custom Shop in San Diego, California.construction set neckscale length 25"body mahogany with 20mm highest quality quilted maple topneck mahogany, quilted maple headstock overlay w/ gold logofingerboard ebony, 12" radiusinlays abalone blocksneck width 1.69" wide @ nut, 2.23" wide @ 22nd frethardware Chromebridge M bridge - tune-o-matic bridge set in body with strings fed throughtuners Sperzel™ locking tunersfrets 22 medium-jumbo, .103 wide X .048 tallpickups C22J & C22B humbuckerselectronics master volume, push/pull tone/coil splitter, 3-way pickup selectordimensions 37.8" long, 12.7" wide body, 2.1" thick at center of body, 1.5" thick at edgeweight 8.25 lbsView My Other Items For Sale  Every guitar we sell is completely set up by us to be gig-ready. Clean and polish (3 step process) the body. Put on a brand new set of strings. Set up the bridge and neck for perfect intonation, and a low/fast action with no fret buzz.
