MRP Drums Carefully hand-selected 100% North American Hard Rock Maple shells and Innovative MRP Craftsmanship are what makes the Performer Series Drum Kit truly ground-breaking in drum construction. This series uses various shell thicknesses on each individual drum in a kit. MRP uses a graduating number of plies (meaning thicker shells on higher toms down to thinner plies on larger diameter shells). A thicker number of plies would increase the pitch, volume and tone of a smaller diameter drum shell where a larger diameter and thinner ply shell will emphasize a drums lower end spectrum of sound. This allows the MRP Artist to sound more musically unique than ever before by playing a distinctly melodic drum kit.
