Description

One brand new Memory Backup BATTERY for the Ensoniq SD-1, VFX-SD, ESQ-1, and SQ-80. Ensoniq used Panasonic 3V Lithium batteries in all of their keyboards and effects units, except the ASR-10/88 and ZR-76, to backup internal sounds, sequencer memory, and other data. These Lithium Cylindrical Type 3V batteries are not sold is stores.  The differences that make them suitable for your Ensoniq are; they have 2 tabs (prongs) welded to them for soldering to a PBC (printed circuit board), they are 3 Volts, have a wide operational temperature range, have an extremely small self-discharge for long service and shelf life, and are very safe. If your Ensoniq is 10 years old, you should backup all of your sounds, sequencer data, and any other files. These batteries will fail without warning and you will lose your data if it isn't saved. The battery has to be soldered to the Ensoniq motherboard. You must first desolder the old battery, then solder the new one to the PCB. Replacing the battery is easy depending upon your soldering experience. It should take a qualified technician about 30 minutes of bench time to do the job. Ensoniq's were designed to give you a Low Battery Message, but that doesn't always happen. Your Ensoniq will most likely just stop working and appear to be dead. After it sits over-night, the battery will usually rebuilt enough of a charge to work for a short time. If this happens, your battery is on its last leg and needs to be replaced. Even if you don't have any soldering experience, you should have one of these batteries available for installation. Music store repair techs probably don't have one of these Cylindrical PCB type batteries in stock. I include installation instructions with the battery. Its a fairly simple task to replace the battery. If you don't have some soldering experience, its best to let a tech do it. Contact me if you need help repairing or troubleshooting your Ensoniq. I live in the St. Louis area if you need tech services or battery replacement.      Payment accepted via cashiers check, money order, or PayPal.  The winning bidder should contact me within 3 days of the auctions end and must pay for the item within 10 days. Shipping will be $3.00 via USPS first class mail. Combined shipping is available for multiple purchases. This battery can be added to any other purchase with no addtional shipping charge, except manuals that are mailed in envelopes. If you do buy multiple items from me, wait for me to send you a combined invoice before paying. I cannot ship these batteries internationally because there are restrictions and regulations for transporting them on Aircraft. NO INTERNATIONAL SALES ON THESE BATTERIES. THERE ARE REGULATIONS FOR SHIPPING THEM ON AIRCRAFT. I WILL NOT MAIL THEM TO ANY COUNTRY OUTSIDE OF THE USA. SHIPPING TO THE US ONLY. If you need faster delivery than First Class mail, I can ship the battery via US Priority Mail for $4.60.  Email me with any questions.
