ANTIQUE BUCKBEE BANJO Up for bid is this antique, made around 1895, 5 string banjo by Buckbee. This banjo is fresh from a local estate. It measures about 35" long. It does need some restoration and clean up. The 5th string peg is missing, the fretboard is missing 3 of the 4 ivory dots and the metal tailpiece is held on by a piece of wire. There are a couple of minor dents to the metal body. The skin is good with no tears, the neck is straight and there are no missing lugs or nuts. I was told by a banjo player and collector that this was made by Buckbee but the only mark I see is an A on the back rail (see pic).
