This is a gorgeous NEW IN THE BOX Ovation Ultra 2178 Acoustic Electric 6 String Guitar with the signature Ovation Sound Hole design.OK, genius, if it is still new in the box how did you take pictures of it?Fair question. I bought two. One for me and one for you. One to keep and one to sell. I opened mine and left the other one packed beautifully in the box from the warehouse.I was playing an outdoor concert and this guy helping with setup liked my ovation ukuleles. So he brought me his Ovation Guitar to play. It played like a dream. When he put it in my hands it practically played itself. I've played several of the higher end guitars and I've never thought they were worth the money. Till I played this one. This ovation has the AA grade solid spruce top. A solid top resonates better than a laminate and carries all the nuances of your playing. It hits the low lows, the high highs and all the overtones and harmonics. I feel like you can play with less energy and get more sound. This has Ovation's patented scalloped LX bracing which allows for better vibration too. This also has the new Ovation lightweight contour body. It fits much better when playing. This has a 5 piece mahogany and maple neck with a truss rod and a "soft V" neck profile.This Acoustic Electric has the Ovation OP Pro Preamp that gives it an amazing plugged in sound. It also has an on board tuner that is spot on. That is a nice feature.If you go to OvationGuitars.com and click on the ultra series on the left and go to the 2178, you can see all the specs. Ovation just started making this model in 2007. At the website you can see they come in three colors - black, vintage amber and black cherry burst.This is the Black Cherry Burst model and I just think the finish is beautiful.
