R. Malerne, Paris Stencil Tenor Saxophone, overhauled by the Selmer Authorized Dealer, engraved with Getzen, s/n 91xx, REAL pearl buttons, SUPERB playing condition, great general use wear (definitely a Player's Horn), Brilhart Ebolin 5* mouthpiece. This is a stencil that was made by R. Malerne, Paris about 40-50 years ago in Paris for Getzen, based in WI (Getzen is legendary for its brass instruments). The lacquer is nearly worn off in many places, however for players who are only interested in a great sound this is the horn for you! Its tone is ideal for Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, George Coleman, and Hank Mobley tunes: to get the classic sound, you need a classic horn because the modern horns can't do it... Modern horns sound really clean, brite, and nice, but this horn has the sound of a REAL saxophone! Yes, it's not pretty, but the pretty ones can't compete with its sound! A Meyer 5M and a Fred Hemke Premium 4 reed will transform this horn into an absolute roaring tiger! http://wwbw.com/Meyer-Hard-Rubber-Tenor-Sax-Mouthpiece-i29281.music I highly recommend this players horn (just look at the length of that neck), and you will be impressed with this classic R. Malerne, Paris tenor! FREE SHIPPING FOR THE USA LOWER 48; all items are sold as-is, no returns.
