DON'T MISS BIDDING ON THIS VALUABLE AND UNIQUE PIECE OF MUSIC HISTORY -- SECOND OR THIRD OF ITS KIND EVER MADE! This stunning, handmade, pre-factory tricone style #1 resonator is a must for vintage guitar collectors. Enhance your guitar collection and help support a worthy cause at the same time. This guitar has a fascinating history -- it was owned by Hunter S. Thompson, the controversial journalist and author of "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail". Hunter then gave it to a dear friend, who generously donated it to The Progeria Research Foundation to sell so the proceeds can pay for research on this fatal, “rapid aging†disease. Featuring hand-soldered strips which are actually woven into place (as opposed to factory instruments which have stamped upper grilles). Diamond holes in the top signify it is a handmade tricone. There are some dark spots on the inside, and two patches of discoloration on the back (see photos). Authentication of ownership by Hunter S. Thompson provided. You will also receive a brand new hard guitar case with green crushed velvet-like lining, and Bob Brozman's "The History and Artistry of National Resonator Instruments" the 290-page, definitive book on this topic. Mr. Brozman features this very guitar on page 49. Sale of this collector’s item will help support the programs of The Progeria Research Foundation (PRF) whose mission is to discover the cure for Progeria, a fatal “premature aging†disease. www.progeriaresearch.org Shipping and insurance included within the US. Additional charges may apply for international shipping. Please contact info@progeriaresearch.org if you have any questions or require more detailed information. Other Terms & Conditions Please make the payment within 3 days after winning the auction. Order not paid in 3 consecutive days will be cancelled automatically without notice. Sale is final. The seller will ship to a confirmed PayPal address within 48 business hours of confirmed payment. If a non-confirmed paypal address is provided, shipment may be delayed.
