Vintage Guild M85 II Bass Up for auction, a great looking vintage Guild M85 II bass guitar in natural finish. This is a short scale 30.5" bass with two humbucking pickups. This instrument is all original and in very good shape. There are no repairs or modifications and the finish on the mahogany body/neck is in good shape. Serial is 79k which indicates an early 1973 manufacture. The overall condition of the bass is good, but it shows some signs of play and its age. There is some crazing on the finish on the front and the back of the body. Also there is an area beneath the strings next to the pickups which has worn completely through the finish, presumably from normal play. There is a set of numbers scratched into one of the tuning keys which is very small. In addition, the tone switch doesn't stay in its down position and springs up. Otherwise, there are some small marks and light dings which can be expected of an older bass, but there is no major damage or any issues. This auction includes the original hard-sided case which is in fair shape with plenty of snags, a few tears and the original handle is missing, but it is structurally sound and the interior is clean.
