Another great item from my Grandmother's things up for bids. We know little about this item. Just stating what it says on the zither. As you look into the opening on it, it reads Menzenhauer Guitar Zither May 29, 1894. Solo Mfg. Co # 2 1/2. Also says this instrument will be sold thru special agents only. It looks like 2 strings may be missing. The main photo does not give it justice on the colors and the gold paint. It was very difficult to actually get a good photo. It does have some paint wear, but considering the age of it, it is in good condition. I do not ever recall her playing it, but do recall strumming on it as a child. My Grandmother was from Germany so wondering if it came over on the boat with her.
