They are perfect. The range is smaller than quoted, but my house has steel doors lots of steel in the structure so that kills it a bit. Yours will probably be better. The sound is very nice, enough bass, smooth and not at all distorted or tinny until high volumes. They are comfy with rotating ear sections, padded headband and soft foamy ear pads. VERY well made, all switches etc feel solid and robust. They are large, but not ridiculously so. Cradle chrager is inspired design, transmitter is rather large (10cms x 7cms x 20cms). Overall nothing to complain about. RS140s (next pair up) arent worth 40-50 quid more; I had a pair of 140s before these. The 130s (these) are miles better than similar priced Sony, Philips and Samsung offerings so go for these. 5/5 every time. Yes - seriously goodBy Royston (Northumberland,United Kingdom) After scouring every review for every kind of wireless product I took the plunge and ordered these RS130s. I awaited their (prompt) arrival with trepidation, fearing they would hiss terribly when they weren't switching themselves off or overcompensate for the louds and softs leaving a steady stream of auditory mush. I briefly lost sleep worrying if my fingers would never learn to distinguish between the volume control and the channel reset button. Would they simply fall off my head or cause heat rash in my ears? I worried in vain: no hiss that I'm aware of (my cat/dog might complain but no reports yet). The transmitter does go to sleep after several minutes of silence but wakes up again quite happily. Can't say I'm aware of any over-zealous AVC action - if it is there it is subtle. The ergonomics are just fine: very comfortable and stable to wear and the controls easy to manipulate without confusion. Set-up was a doddle: pop the supplied batteries into their slots, charge up, switch on and they work. If there is any sign of interference, slide the channel switch on the base unit to another of the three options, press that button beside the volume control on the phones and you are back in business. My music: the base unit sits on a shelf where most of my audio kit resides. The usefully long lead reaches to the phone socket of either my A/V amplifier (CD, DVD, TV, Wii, etc), my iPod with everything on it, or to the guitar amplifier on the floor below. My office is in the house so I find myself happily working through the day whilst listening to a dose of Radio 3 or Classic FM (the open back design means I'm still usefully aware of the pone ringing). Come playtime I can wander round the sitting room playing a guitar without waking the neighbours or do a bit of tennis practice on the Wii. I listen to a fair range of music which includes very quiet classical to very noisy rockabilly guitar stuff. Orchestral, choral, country: it all gets in there and these phones simply reproduce it - not much added, not much taken away - I forget I've got phones on; the sounds just follow me around in a world of my own. To pick fault the volume control should be where the tuning button is as when you go to adjust the volume i seem to activate the auto tune as you need to get the volume control above it. In the past I have used a pair of infra red which can have a lot if interference. These headphones are the business. I was slightly put off by the comments that other people were commenting on the surround sound but once you have tuned then in properly the reception is excellent. As for listening to music it is an amazing reception. I can have them plugged in upstairs move downstairs with the headphones on without loss of quality in the sound. Recommend them to anyone. Great sound at great rangeBy Bristly Badger (Deep underground) I needed some headphones to listen to pumping movies when the kids are asleep in the rooms upstairs. These are just great and the surround sound effect is amazing for action movies. The clarity is fantastic but most impressive is the range. If I'm listening to digital radio from the TV instead, I can walk through our relatively large house and still get clear reception despite having up to four block walls in the way, with a couple of substantial RSJs in the ceilings, too. Two things that might worry potential buyers: the cradle looks a bit tacky plasticky and whilst the insulation from external sound is satisfactory, it's relatively easy for people to hear what you're listening to if the volume's up at the higher end of the scale. But for me, they work just fine. My two year-old little'un tried them today too - it was great to see him bopping around with these on but I probably won't see them again until he leaves home.This is a brand new and sealed wireless headphones, it will be despatched immediately once payment is completed!
