Selmer Series 9 Bass Clarinet. Low Eb. This has been a faithful and ripping horn for me on many shows for several years. The one hitch to a collector is the fact that somewhere before I got it, one of the joints was replaced with one of a different serial number. Both are “Q†series and very close in number. The top is Q9249 and the bottom is Q8298. A little fact that I didn’t discover until after I got it, but it has been such a great player’s horn, I really didn’t care about matching serials. I'm moving on to a low C as my main BCl.The horn is blowing fine and certainly has some life left in these pads. Wood is good shape. No pins. There was the typical Selmer Series 9 split on the thin wood of the receiver of the lower joint that stops before the main wood and bore. It has been expertly filled and repaired (I invite you to find where it was!!). Bell and neck in nice shape. Looks like the bell brace got pushed in a very little bit. NO mouthpiece is included. The case I am willing to part with is not the original but is just about as bad as the original, so build in the possibility of you needing to buy/supply a decent case. The original case was constantly killing the register key adjustment (you Series 9 folks know what I mean), so I scrapped it. More Pics on request. PLEASE be sure you ask any questions you need to have answered BEFORE you bid. Thanks!!!
