For sale is a Shires TB47-62L trombone slide. It is a dual-bore slide with an open, somewhat conical sound and feel. It requires more air & produces a larger sound. The first number indicates the bore of the upper leg of the slide; the second number the lower leg. So the upper leg is .547 bore, the lower leg is .562 bore. It is a lightweight slide meaning that it has no sleeves, quicker response, & a more brilliant sound. It also features a nickel crook & yellow brass tubes. Since it is a Shires slide, all of the slide tubing is drawn in house to precision tolerances. The slide is then carefully assembled, aligned, and stress relieved to assure a smooth, trouble-free action. I bought this slide as a backup to my main slide. I have played on it a few times and the action is perfect. The finish is also perfect on it. Along with the slide, you are getting a #2 leadpipe, which is a medium venturi diameter & has a more open sound. This slide will work great with the tenor trombone and will even work as a small bass trombone slide. I bought this slide new when I bought my entire trombone. It has been stored in a climate controlled room and has absolutely no corrosion on it. It is in new condition, except I have played on it a couple of times to ensure proper tone and function. On Jul-25-08 at 08:42:20 PDT, seller added the following information:It has come to my attention that the "L" does not designate the slide as 'lightweight'. Instead, it designates it as 'long'. About 1/2" to 5/8" longer than the standard length Shires slides.
