Perhaps the best jazz clarinet ever made. The Conn 444N has a distinctive sound like what you hear in Artie Shaws 1938 recordings. No professional clarinet made since can match the character and quality, but to find one that hasn't been played to pieces or cracked can be very difficult. If you had to pay over $1000 for one in perfect condition like new you'd be lucky to find it, and it would be a bargain compared to many newer professional clarinets. I bought 15 of these and only one wasn't cracked, but if a crack is properly sealed it should be expected to last many years. This one has been sealed and banded to resist cracking, and should continue to be a fabulous player for many years with ordinary service. If you are not satisfied you may exchange it for a different clarinet I have. At this low price you can't lose.
