This auction is for a Waves APA-32 Audio Processing Accelerator and a complete IR-1 Parametric Convolution Reverb package. If you are serious about using WAVES plugins, then the APA processing accelerator is a must have. For instance, the IR (Impulse Response) Convolution Reverb plugin is one of the most realistic reverb systems available. The APA Accelerator is necessary to run the plugin because of the large amount of DSP power required for each channel that the reverb is used on simultaneously. There are other Waves plugins that also require large amounts of DSP support, for instance the Super Tap Delays. Although it is not always necessary to use the APA device to run Super Tap, as the number of channels Super Tap is used on increases, and especially if a lot of DSP power is being used for other plugins, APA support may become necessary. The processor is rack mountable and connects to a PC over an Ethernet connection. This has only been used in my studio and is in perfect, like new condition. It has an array of DSP's which run some of the high overhead plugins from Waves so that those plugins do not rely on the DSP's in the Pro Tools HD system. These plugins include those in the IR Convolution Reverb package, the Super Tap Delays and others. The Waves website has specific information as to the names and number of instances of these plugins that can be run an the APA-32. IR-1 uses, "Impulse Response files", to recreate the reverb of real-world venues. The manufacturer includes a number of these files with the IR-1 package which are included with this auction. There is also a website with a growing library of response files that can be downloaded by users as new files become available. I am also including many Impulse Response files that I have downloaded myself from the site. The hardware and software plugins each sell for between $600 and $800.
