Description

Welte-Mignon Licensee Piano No. 420 Chopin: Nocturne, Op. 9, no. 3, played by D’Albert. This work comes from a set of noble nocturnes Chopin composed soon after arriving in Paris, when he was just 21 years old. Recorded by the celebrated Liszt student Eugene d’Albert (1864-1932) in his first Welte session in 1905, this beautiful roll is reproduced from a rare Poughkeepsie issue. This is a brand new recut on top quality paper with high quality labels and box, perforated by Bob Billings of Sierra Music Rolls and part of the Kukral Collection catalogue of new issues of Welte piano rolls issued in 2007.  No lyrics printed on rolls. Welte-Mignon Licensee piano rolls will only play on a "Welte-Mignon" reproducing piano, manufactured between 1916 and 1932 in the USA. These rolls will not play on an Ampico, Duo-Art, Recordo, or the early T-100 Red Welte pianos.  They will play on a regular player piano but removable tape must be put on the tracker bar to cover the lowest 4 and the highest 4 holes.
