PLEASE CLICK ON THE "ABOUT ME" LINK TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HMTRAD & OUR AUCTION POLICIES The information on that page will assist you in making an informed bid. ABOUT ME This is a circa 1920’s Weymann banjo-mandolin. The previous owner has kept it in wonderful original playing condition. This model has the resonator which presses on/pops off. It also has enclosed tuners with very nice etching on the covers. The ivoroid tuner buttons are in wonderful uncracked and unchipped condition. The bound fingerboard is ebony and the rim and resonator are maple. The rim is 8-ply instead of the typical 4 or 6 ply. The diameter of the natural skin head is 10.5â€; the resonator measures just over 12â€. When we took this instrument in, there was a small crack on the resonator, which has been professionally repaired by our master luthier. The hardshell case is original and also in fine shape. How loud is this little hybrid? Real loud! If you play in a band, not to worry--it will cut through guitars, basses, fiddles & accordions. Weymann was a Philadelphia-based company similar to S.S. Stewart and Vega, in the sense that they were trusted names as suppliers of instruments to the banjo and mandolin orchestras of that time period. This is a professional level instrument that was owned by a versatile swing musician. Shipping will be $30 by UPS ground within the continental US. International bidders, please see our information below on international shipping. Please note: Since these photos were taken, the instrument has been completely restrung with all 8 strings! Notes on international shipping: Serious bidders or buyers outside the continental US must contact us for a shipping quote before purchasing. Please include your city, country and postal code. We generally answer shipping inquiries Monday through Friday. Some information and guidelines for you: our preferred method of shipping internationally is USPS Express Mail. This method carries an insurance limit of $650. If the item is valued at over this cost, we can only ship by this method if the buyer assumes responsibility for any amount over $650 should the item be lost or damaged in shipping.
