Ball bearing hinge: The hinge that connects the footboard and the heel plate is cast to tight tolerances and rotates on ball bearings eliminating any side-to-side movement. This keeps the footboard and drive mechanism in line for a smooth stroke that allows you to play with finesse and power. Stronger beater hub: The beater hub is thicker so that it can handle the rigors of nightly club gigs, or a full-blown world tour. The beater hole was re-shaped to hold the shaft securely.
