It is considered an intermediate saxophone in that it's tone and playability is a huge step up from beginner models but without the price of a professional sax. This sax has a really nice, warm tone. I play primarily jazz but also used this sax while playing with the school band as well as a reggae band. Dollar for dollar, it's one of the best buys - light years beyond $300 beginner models. The YAS-52 is no longer being made and has been replaced by the YAS-475 which sells for about $1700. With the accessories below, I have almost $2000 into this horn and am willing to let it go for my reserve price of $800 ($850 if you use Buy it Now).What comes with it:Bam case (made in France) - This case cost over $200 when I bought it 10 years ago. BAM still makes cases that retail for about the same. It is compact but incredible protective. The interior is covered with a chamois-like material that will never scratch the horn.Meyer Rubber Mouthpiece (5 Medium) with Selmer Paris ligature - These Meyer mouthpieces retail for ~$115 new and the ligature is work ~$255 Vandoren Java reedsReed protector and humidifyerSilk neck swabEndplug SwabNeck strapCleaning brush Condition: Very Good to ExcellentThe Sax has some very light brushmarks from general use. Look at the supersized images and you can't even see they are there. There are two noticable flaws you should look at: 1) A small dent (smaller than a pencil eraser) under the bell (see second to last puicture) and 2) A scratch on the gooseneck (See last picture).Neither one of these flaws are easily seen unless you are looking for them. Other than these two spots, the saxophone is basically in new condition. The cork and pads are not dried out and the keys have been adjusted recently.
